J. Waegell

I live on a ranch and in a house my husband's parents built in about 1927. Some of the trees in my garden were planted over
the years by his parents so are quite mature. The pond was originally built by his parents but was redone essentially the same
by us in the 1990's. Portions of the barn in the picture are old enough to have square nails. In 1992 we did some new
hardscape, a new irrigation system and landscaping. My biggest problem comes from being able to expand more than I can
take care of especially since I injured my back in 2001 which limits how much work I can do. Very frustrating. I am inclined
to a more "natural" type of garden and with my back limitation it has gotten more so. I have used quite a few California
natives especially in area with very limited water. I do very little with annuals because I have all I can do to keep the
perennials, shrubs and trees halfway under control.
